Established in October 2020 by Vincent Page, Chào Bạn began as an intimate restaurant nestled under a lush tree at the end of Tô Ngọc Vân Street, Tây Hồ District.
Close friends, family, and local residents of Tây Hồ were among our first guests, who came to support Vincent. Gradually, Chào Bạn began welcoming travelers, who shared their experiences on social media and by word of mouth, expanding awareness of Chào Bạn’s distinctive culinary offerings. Over time, Chào Bạn built a growing reputation and became known to more people.
In 2023, Chào Bạn and Vincent were honored for the first time in the Michelin Guide. Several travel books from France, Japan, and beyond began introducing Chào Bạn, featuring Vincent as a passionate young French–Vietnamese chef in Hanoi.
After almost five successful years, Vincent sought a new venue that would offer more seating for guests and a larger kitchen to create even more dishes. His vision was a space well-suited to Hanoi’s diverse climate, with comfortable areas for rainy days, hot summers, or chilly winters, and a kitchen twice the size of the original. Eventually, he found a French-style villa that met—and even exceeded—all expectations.
In May 2025, Chào Bạn officially opened its doors at Villa 28, Alley 11, Tô Ngọc Vân, Tây Hồ, Hanoi. As guests step inside, they are greeted by a lush tropical garden with mature banana trees, a bamboo-lined fence surrounding the pool, and tall trees adorned with glowing lanterns—a signature “Vincent touch” carried over from the early days. At the end of the garden, guests see an airy French-style villa, filled with natural light and windows overlooking the greenery. Inside, the space is decorated with Vietnamese artworks and mementos that capture Chào Bạn’s journey.
Chào Bạn serves the culinary essence of Vietnam’s three regions. Northern and Central highlights include Hanoi Spring Rolls, Hai Phong Crab Spring Rolls, Green Papaya Salad, Banana Blossom Salad, and Grilled Pork with Mac Mat Leaves. From the South, signature dishes feature Southern-style Beef Vermicelli and Coconut Braised Prawns. Classic home-style cherished throughout Vietnam such as Braised Pork, Braised Fish, Grilled Pork Ribs, Sour Fish Soup, and Eggplant with tofu—are also served. For vegetarian guests, options include Vegetable Salad, Fresh Spring Rolls, Crispy Vegetarian Spring Rolls, and Stir-fried Mushrooms.
Chào Bạn also features signature dishes crafted by Vincent and the kitchen team, such as Charcoal-grilled Beluga Sturgeon, Grilled Squid with Special Sauce, and Chicken Soup with Mushrooms and Lotus Seeds.
In the summer of 2025, Vincent introduced Pandan Crème Brûlée — a delicate blend of French technique and Vietnamese flavor—which quickly became one of the restaurant’s best-sellers.
Not only focusing on flavor, Chào Bạn is equally committed to delivering excellent service. With over seven years of experience in managing a Vietnamese restaurant with more than 40 staff, Vincent places great emphasis on training his team, maintaining consistent quality, and continually enhancing the guest experience.
We invite you to experience Villa 28, where refined Vietnamese cuisine meets heartfelt hospitality in our tranquil garden.
